What is Osende 2M Methylfolate Methylcobalamin?

It contains vitamin B12 in the form of methylcobalamin and folic acid in the form of methylfolate in orally disintegrating tablets.

Folic acid must be converted into its active form to be usable by the body. The methylfolate form is the ready-to-use form for the body and may be more suitable for individuals who have difficulty converting folic acid into methylfolate.

Methylcobalamin is the active, ready-to-absorb form of vitamin B12 that does not require conversion by the body.

Benefits of the Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid in Osende 2M:

• Supplemental folic acid intake increases the folate level of the expectant mother. Low folate level is a risk factor for neural tube defects in the developing fetus.*
• Vitamin B12 contributes to normal red blood cell formation.
• Vitamin B12 has a role in cell division.

*To achieve the beneficial effect, at least 400 µg of Folic Acid must be taken daily. The beneficial effect is obtained with supplemental daily intake of 400 µg folic acid for at least one month before and up to three months after conception.
