What Is Bee Bread?

Bees collect pollen from nature, add their own enzymes to it, and store it in the honeycomb cells, creating their own bread. The very first food that bees use to feed their larvae is bee bread. Bee bread is the form of pollen whose outer shell has been digested by the bees' own enzymes, allowing all its nutritional content to be released and making it more easily digestible for humans. It is also known as perga. After bee pollen ferments inside the hive throughout all four seasons, it turns into bee bread. In short, bee bread (perga) is pollen fermented with honey.
