Biotin is a type of vitamin synthesized by intestinal bacteria. Also known as Vitamin B7, biotin plays a role in carbohydrate metabolism and contributes to energy formation.

The foods where it is most commonly found are egg yolk, meat, yeast, and liver. Insufficient consumption can lead to vitamin deficiency. Subsequently, muscle pain, loss of appetite, and pale skin tone may occur.

The recommended daily intake of B7 for adults is 20-30 mcg.
