Fennel Herbal Tea

The fennel plant belongs to the parsley family (Apiaceae) and is generally known as a biennial herb.

Its leaves are thin, with sessile leaves in the middle and upper parts. The flowers are yellow and quite small. The roots are needle-shaped, aromatic, approximately finger-thick, with lateral roots. Fennel is native to the Mediterranean and the Near East. Both its leaves and seeds are used.

Fennel is widely grown in many regions of Turkey and is one of the most commonly used herbs by breastfeeding mothers.

Consumption Recommendation

Place one tea bag in a cup of hot water and steep for 5-10 minutes. Herbal teas are recommended to be consumed without sweeteners, but honey can be added if desired.
