Hawthorn, also known as "yemi?en," belongs to the rose family (Rosaceae). Some species are thorny, earning the nickname "akdiken." Its fruits range in color from red to yellow, depending on the variety. Both the fruits and leaves of hawthorn are widely consumed in Turkey for their health benefits, especially when brewed as tea.

Hawthorn grows in many regions worldwide and naturally thrives in Western and Southern Anatolia in Turkey. Its fruits, leaves, and flowers are used for general wellness, with the leaves containing many beneficial compounds that have been studied extensively.

This wild, naturally growing tree adapts well to the Anatolian climate. Hawthorn comes in various colors, including yellow, red, and black, and offers numerous health-promoting properties.

The blend also contains olive leaves, rich in bioactive compounds such as oleuropein, along with rosemary, pomegranate flower, and yarrow, which complement each other synergistically. Green tea, a popular beverage worldwide and second only to water in consumption, contributes antioxidants called phenols.

Suggested Use

Steep one tea bag in a cup of hot water for 5–10 minutes. Herbal teas are best consumed without sweeteners; honey may be added if desired. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a physician before use.
