PEPPERMINT OIL

Peppermint is from the Lamiaceae family. It is a plant with a distinctive scent. Preferring moist environments in its habitat, peppermint is typically a hairy and very fragrant herbaceous plant. It is rich in menthol, tannins, and vitamins C and E.

Peppermint is a hybrid species. Among its most active components are menthol (35-45%) and menthone (10-30%).

When used in steam inhalation, it helps clear the airways. It aids in increasing focus. For body aches, it can be consumed by blending with other oils.

One study found that peppermint oil provided 150 minutes of protection against mosquitoes, with only 0.1 ml of oil applied to the arms. Researchers stated that after 150 minutes, the peppermint oil's efficacy decreased and reapplication was needed.

Peppermint is one of the rare plants whose healing power lies in its essential oil. The scent of peppermint oil comes from its Menthol content, which varies between 50% and 90%. Menthol is typically a clear, solid crystal in its pure form.

Peppermint essential oil is known to have a strong antispasmodic effect on stomach and intestinal muscles. Peppermint oil stimulates the endogenous defense system. In this regard, it has secured a significant place in alternative medicine.

Reminder: Peppermint oil is a potent oil. Therefore, using it in correct dosages is extremely important. Furthermore, the use of peppermint oil is limited for children aged 6 and under and is not widely recommended.

Peppermint oil is known in the physical realm as antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory, while in the emotional realm it is illuminating and refreshing.

PEPPERMINT OIL USAGE AREAS

Suitable for use in a diffuser. The oil groups it blends best with are lavender, bay laurel, cajeput, rosemary, and grapefruit.

Can be used to repel insects. They will stay away shortly as they will not like the sharp scent of peppermint oil.

Can be used for skin massage. However, it must not be applied directly; it needs to be diluted with a carrier oil.

Helps nourish the skin. Shows effect when applied to areas with cramping issues.

Not recommended for facial care.
